Learn Online!

There is A LOT you can learn about Tatting from YouTube and Facebook!

Did you know there are 2 ways to tat? Needle and Shuttle. I've linked (at bottom of page) a few of my teaching handouts that tell you more about it, as well as what supplies you need to get started. (Check more info and videos here.)

To watch examples of both types of tatting I am attaching links to videos to make a basic butterfly.

The second video isn't in English. Tatting is an international art and language.  It is really unifying. I have made lots of international friends on Facebook. I regularly tat from Russian, Italian, Japanese, Korean patterns. If you are familiar with crochet or knitting you know that patterns can be diagrammed and don't necessarily require written instructions. There is an example (linked below) of a butterfly pattern that is diagrammed and written out.

If you are interested in learning to needle tat, I recommend RustiKate. https://www.youtube.com/user/ RustiKate
If you are interested in learning to shuttle tat, I recommend Karen Cabrera: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5025CBCDAF92DABF

I know that's a big "info dump." But I wanted you to have the resources to start if you are ready right now!
